For New Clients
1. Getting Started
All new clients start with an Introductory One‑to‑One Private Lesson. This session must be completed within 4 weeks of purchase. If you’re unable to commit to this timeframe, please wait until you can before booking. This ensures you begin your Pilates journey with clarity, consistency, & the attention you deserve.
2. What Happens in Your Introductory Lesson
Your introductory lesson is a personalised introduction to the foundational basics of the Traditional Pilates Method. During this time, I assess your posture, movement patterns, strengths, & areas that may need work. This allows me to tailor your Pilates experience so it is safe, effective, & aligned with your goals.
3. Your Personalised Pathway
Following your introductory lesson, I will guide you toward the most suitable next steps based on your needs & my professional observations. Your pathway may include:
-
Private Lessons
- Mat, Barrel, or Tower Group Classes
-
Full Studio Group Apparatus Classes
-
Or a combination of these options
My aim is to ensure your investment in Pilates is the right fit & supports your long‑term progress. If you have certain medical conditions, disc/ spinal injury history, neurological conditions, mobility challenges or if you are in pain- building a good foundation for you to move safely with confidence is priority- please expect to take private lessons to build a safe Pilates practice before joining groups.
The clients who achieve the best results are those who practice Pilates x3 per week using a mix of taught sessions & homework.
4. Joining Mat, Barrel, or Tower Group Classes
You may join these group classes after your introductory lesson if you:
-
Are free from injury or pain
-
Have good mobility
-
Can demonstrate sufficient control
-
Can follow instructions confidently
If these criteria are met, your introductory lesson will usually provide enough preparation to join safely.
5. Full Studio Apparatus Class Requirements
Full Studio Group Apparatus Classes require additional private lessons before joining to ensure you are confident, safe, & technically prepared for the specific class level you wish to attend.
-
Daytime classes are generally slower‑paced & more modified
-
Evening classes tend to be more progressive
This structure supports both safety & steady progression.
6. Scheduling Your Introductory Lesson
Introductory Private Lessons are scheduled by request- please fill out an email contact form below providing an outline of your availability. Sessions are added to the schedule based on demand & may fall outside of the regular private lesson schedule.
You're welcome to set up your account on my Gymcatch booking system in preparation to be sent your link to book your Introductory Lesson. Alternatively, I can get you set up.
7. Cancellation Policy
Cancellation of your Introductory lesson must be made through your Gymcatch account, followed by an email to arrange a new time.
-
24 hours’ notice or more: your session may be rescheduled
-
Less than 24 hours’ notice: the session is forfeited
This policy ensures fairness, consistency, & respect for everyone’s time.
8. Booking Access After Your Introductory Lesson
Once your introductory session is complete, you will be granted booking access to all sessions appropriate for your level & needs. I look forward to teaching you.
